Inspired By a Master

Inspired Photograph

My Photograph

The inspired photographed is New York 1966 .

Lee Friedlander's photography style is very different. He had many styles to work off of. The approach I took for my final IBAM photograph was different factors I could control versus what I could not control. The goal for this assignment was not to copy the same exact photograph as your photographer. Instead, to find elements in their photo that you can elaborate on within the final. I was inspired by the city scene, Friedlander took his photograph in New York City, I took mine in Old Ellicott City. I also was inspired by his style, I could control the scenery but could not control my model's pose and background cars. Lee Friedlander also included his own shadow in his photograph, I decided not to include my own shadow in my final because I did not like the way it would distract from the city scene. Friedlander's model was closer to the camera than my photograph, I like the further POV  rather than the closer subject.
